Incan Spirulina, Raw Cacao, & Cayenne Smoothie:
This is my husband Mark’s (and my) new breakfast favorite. Spirulina is an incredible source of protein, and yields more nutrition per acre than any other food. Two hundred times more protein per acre than beef! Plus, each gram of protein in Spirulina is four times more absorbable. Incan Spirulina is the purest and most mild tasting of any commercially available Spirulina (I purchase mine from rrsuperfoods.com). The cayenne is optional, but gives it a fun kick and is a little metabolism boost.
Makes enough for 2
1/2 cup rolled oats 2 1/2 tbsp raw cacao 2 tsp Incan Spirulina 1 tsp cinnamon 3 shakes cayenne Few pinches of chia seeds 1 cup almond milk 1 frozen banana
Blend until smooth (no chunks of banana). Add frozen strawberries or ice to obtain desired thickness (strawberries will result in a creamier smoothie). Enjoy!
